Every summer Drew runs the softball league for church on Sunday afternoons. We try not to travel on the weekends in the summer, so he doesn't miss a game. We went to Branson on a Tuesday and came back on a Thursday. Porter started teeball which was on Tuesday and Thursday night, so we had to schedule our trip around this schedule as well. (I feel like the life of an athletes mom has already began and he is three.)
Our first day we went to Silver Dollar City.
This summer Porter played teeball for the local YMCA. This was a long time coming after two years of watching the Royals everyday (on tv) and "swinging the bat" all of the time.
His team color was red and their team name was the Angry Birds, which I'm not sure he even knows what that is?
No stats just good clean fun, but I will say Porter had two compliments for how sweet and polite he was! I will take that over a home run any day.
So far summer in 2016 has been pretty awesome!
Late nights by the fire pit with sticky fingers and chocolate faces.
Celebrating graduates.
Getting our money's worth for our Goldpass season ticket to Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun. Hands down the best Christmas gift! Thanks GiGi!
Playing at our neighborhood pool or/and at Grandma and Grandpas pool.
Or taking bubble baths when it is thundering (plundering as Porter calls it) outside!
We have spent time at our local elementary schools playground. Riding slides with all three of us in a row. (I sure hope no one was watching.)
Like I said, this summer has started off amazing! I am so thankful for this time with my babies and hope to bring you more from June.
Last year we had a scary moment where Porter fell into the pool without a life jacket. Luckily, Drew was there to get him out but man...probably one of the scariest moments of my life! With that being said Porter is very comfortable with the water, so we wanted to make sure he had a few skills under his belt.
We took a two week class with six total sessions at Gage Gymanistics in Blue Springs, MO. This was an amazing place to take lessons! We were lucky enough to have a small class so the student to teacher ratio was two to one and sometimes one to one. Porter learned to jump in touch the bottom while blowing out bubbles. He swam across the pool with little assistance on his tummy and his back.
Here are a few shots from the past two weeks:
The very first day we spent majority of the class on this bench. Porter is not scared of the water, but he is very shy. No one is going to make him do anything.
Here's Parker waiting for Brother to be done...
